This bike tour is composed of three bike itineraries in the southern Lake Garda, with base in a *** hotel nearby the Sirmione peninsula. Two itineraries need a ferry transfer back to Sirmione, one is a round tour.

We visit the southern side of the Lake Garda, that features rolling hills covered with great Lugana wine vineyards and corn fields. The countryside is dotted with small villages overlooked by the high towers of the castles, and it is crossed by the River Mincio: cycling on its beautiful bike path is relaxing and really safe. On the eastern side of Lake Garda we visit the charming villages of Peschiera, Lazise, Bardolino (famous for its red wine) and Garda, surrounded by hills from where we can enjoy great landscapes. The eastern side of the lake is hillier: here we can find castles, beautiful little road winding among the olive groves and elegant towns such as Salò and Desenzano.

Last but not least, Sirmione, Lake Garda pearl, where we overnight. The villas, the ancient roman ruins of the Grottoes of Catullus, the medieval castle, the white cliffs at the top of the peninsula and the small alleys in the town centre: all this will make your holidays unforgettable.

    • We head west cycling on a bike path, and we get to Desenzano del Garda, the biggest town by the lake. After crossing its charming centre, we ride up the hills: we first cycle next to the Maguzzano abbey and then we get to the castle of Padenghe: there we can enjoy a beautiful view over the lake and we can feel the medieval time among the little alleys inside its walls.

We keep cycling on country roads and bike paths, passing close to the castle of Moniga and, at the end of a easy climb, we reach the Rocca of Manerba, a panoramic promontory with high cliffs over the lake.

We finally arrive to Salò, after pedalling among rolling hills, ancient churches, little hamlets, vineyards and olive groves: the town itself is really vibrant and its centre features elegant buildings.

    • In this tour we explore the moraine hills in the southern side of the Lake Garda. Once we leave Sirmione, we are surrounded by large fields covered by vineyards, that produce the famous Lugana white wine. We cycle on quiet countryside roads, with some dirt road sections, and we reach Pozzolengo, a village overlooked by a medieval castle. From the castle of Pozzolengo we move towards another castle, the Mozambano one, then we cycle among large corn fields and we finally get to the charming village of Borghetto sul Mincio. This village, built on river Mincio shores, features some romantic watermills and a long medieval bridge.

We keep cycling on the river Mincio bike path, flat and relaxing, until Peschiera del Garda, a fortified town built among the waters of the river and the lake.

Finally, a few kilometres more on bike path and we are back in Sirmione.

We cycle by the shore of the lake and then we head inland, a nice hilly area with large vineyards and olive groves. We go back to the coast by the charming village of Lazise, surrounded by medieval walls and featuring a beautiful little port and narrow alleys.

We keep cycling on a bike path by the shore of the lake until we get to Bardolino, a vibrant village famous for the homonymous red wine, and then we cycle up to the hills. The little countryside roads wind among the olive trees and bring us to some nice panoramic spot, and finally we arrive to Garda, located in a beautiful bay.
