The first natural park in Veneto, the Euganean Hills are a group of sweet hills with volcanic origins, which rise in the middle of the Po Valley, few kilometers southern-west from Padua.
Many nobles and rich people decided to built here their beautiful abodes and villas, because of the beauty of these hills. On the way, we will see many stunning Ville Venete: we visit Villa dei Vescovi, a XV century elegant Villa built on the top of a little hill surrounded by vineyards.
We also visit the charming walled cities of Este and Monselice, built at the foot of the hills. Then, we move inland towards Arquà Petrarca, so named because of the famous poet Petrarch. We overnight here, surrounded by the hills. The day after, we ride to the mighty and astonishing Abbey of Praglia. A monk shows us the church, the cloister and the ancient library, and he explains us the monk’s lifestyle, who deal among others with cosmetic, herbalist and beekeeping.
Independent arrival to Bastia Padovana; meeting by the car park at 9:30
We pedal on a nice and safe bike path at the foot of the Euganean Hills, flanking some canals. On the way we stop and visit the walled city of Este and Monselice. We arrive to Arquà Petrarca, and ancient village featuring Petrarch’s house and tomb.
Overnights in Arquà Petrarca – Hotel Villa del Poeta ***
The bike path winds among the hills, then we flank Montegrotto Terme and we cross the large countryside. Once we get to Praglia, we meet one of the monks, that shows us the abbey. Some kilometers more and we arrive to Villa dei Vescovi, a recently-restored elegant Venetian villa.
Arrival to Bastia Padovana at approximately 17:00. Individual trip back.
The itinerary is round tour composed of two stages, leaving from Bastia Padovana, locality of Rovolon (near Teolo – Padua). trail with two night stay with start and arrival in Bastia Padovana, village close to Rovolon, Teolo and Padua. The tour takes place mainly on bike paths and a few secondary low car traffic roads. Road bank is mostly apshalt or nice dirt road. The itinerary is mostly flat with a few light climbs.
Padlock is included in the bike rental. Bike delivery and retired on the spot.
Details about the hotels are written on the program; due to reason of force majeure, hotels may be substitute with others of the same (or higher) category.

100 € needs to be deposited as downpayment at the moment of the enrolment. Once the tour is confirmed, balance needs to be deposited not later than 30 days before the departure.
Customer renouncing may be substitute by another person if the organizer receives written notice. The substitute must satisfy all the conditions necessary to the service fruition. The substitute must reimburse the organizer for all the secretarial allowances, 10 € are to be deposited plus any extra costs related with the substitution.
If the customer withdraws from the contract, penalties are applied. Penalties may be refunded by the withdraw insurance, if taken out. Penalties are: from the moment of the enrolment to 46 days before departure, the downpayment; 45 days before departure, 50% of the cost of the tour; 30 days before departure, full cost of the tour.
