Valpolicella and the Zýmē Winery

Visit to Zýmē Winery with wine tasting

Easy path among the wide vineyards of the Valpolicella area with a visit to the Romanesque church of San Floriano. Visit and light lunch at the winery Zýmē with a tasting of 10 wines including the Amarone Riserva 2003.

A glance to the wonderful Basilica of San Zeno before heading outside the city centre on a cycling path. Once in the Valpolicella premises, the ride develops through a beautiful area among vineyards and manor villas, with a visit to the ancient Romanesque church of San Floriano.

The best part of the tour is the visit to the amazing winery Zýmē, where there will be a light lunch accompanied by the tasting of 10 wines, including the Amarone Riserva 2003. The relaxed way back to Verona passes through Villa Mosconi Bertani, surrounded by wonderful vineyards and includes another sweet stop at a very popular ice-cream shop. Then, following the river Adige, we’ll get to the Castelvecchio bridge and cross it.

The new winery Zýmē is designed by architect Moreno Zurlo whose design concept lays in the enhancement of the relationship between man and nature. The architectural solution exalts the place where it is built, which is an old cave dating back to 1400. The building foundations are covered with calcareous stone extracted at the time of digging. The shell is then made of a second metal brown skin. The weaving design and the veining of the vine leaves give it a poetic touch and make the volume even more celestial.
