Valpantena and Tenuta Musella
The resurgences in Montorio and organic wine tasting
Easy path in Valpantena, in the surroundings of Verona, by the crystal waters of the resurgences of Montorio. Visit to Musella Winery with organic wines tasting.
The round trip starts from the Verona’s city centre and develops in Valpantena, a wide valley east of the city (part of the enological district of Valpolicella wines). Outside the residential area, fields, vineyards and olive trees, especially on the hills. We will leave the city on a bike path along the Progno Valpantena. The tour will then take us to the premises of Villa Balladoro Malfatti at the edge of a large basin. On the hill, the medieval Castle of Montorio and an Austrian fortress of the 19th century watch over the Forte Preara Valley. We will ride on cycling paths along nice resurgences with calm and clear waters.
By the stream Fibbio, we will visit Tenuta Musella winery: a beautiful 16th century farmhouse, renovated and transformed in a comfortable relais and location for the winery and the farm company that has recently adopted organic and biodynamic policies. We will sadly head back to the city after a tasting of organic wines, oil and olive pâté.
